The Garage sale

I was riding my bike down the street. I see this garage sale sign that says ‘BIKE FOR SALE’. I ride straight there .I get there. There is an old man. He says ” hello there, what do you have to offer for this beautiful yellow bike.” I say ” well i have this pastel blue bike, but may i see the yellow bike first? ” he says ” yes you may”. He goes into his house and out he comes with this beautiful yellow bike. I say straight away ” YES I WILL TAKE IT” “perfect” he says. And now i have that yellow bike to this day.

  1. Hello Lucy,

What an unusual and kind old man was in your story. He didn’t seem to want money for the yellow bike because he was happy to trade for a pastel blue bike. It’s almost as though he knew you would like the yellow bike.

  2. Kia ora Lucy. Well done, I really enjoyed reading your 100 Word Challenge. You’ve used a lot of dialogue, which can be a bit tricky, but you’ve done a great job. I like how your characters are very polite too! Keep up the super writing Lucy.

  3. Hello Lucy,

The yellow bike sounds so bright and cheerful! I can imagine it at the garage sale. Am I right in thinking that your character swapped her blue bike for the yellow bike?

    Great job!
